Praised for their “stylistic integrity and convincing artistry,” flutist Melissa Freilich and organist Vincent Ryan make up Doppelflöte, a duo from the Philadelphia area that has performed together since 1998 and recently made their international debut in Wittenberg, Germany. They will be in concert at Hyde Park Community UMC on Sunday, November 10 at 4pm. Comfortable with a wide variety of music, they continually strive to expand their repertoire, occasionally commissioning and premiering new works.
This concert will include the world premiere of Seascapes for flute and organ, composed by Brenda Portman. Melissa is active as a flutist and flute teacher, and Vince is Minister of Music at Advent Lutheran Church in Harleysville, PA.
