The West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church supports a wide variety of mission partners, both local and global, in advancing our common mission to 'make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.' Each month, we will join together in praying for our siblings doing mission and ministry around the world.
October: Missionaries
“The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. These were his instructions to them: ‘The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.’” (Luke 10:1-2). While all Christians are called to be in ministry and mission in their communities, God sends some followers to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to God’s children around the world. These disciples face a host of challenges when transitioning to a new context…learning about a different culture, building new relationships, and gaining the trust of a community. Missionaries in The United Methodist Church come from everywhere and are sent to everywhere, including the United States. Missionaries supported by the West Ohio Conference lead with passion and inspiration, following the command to spread God’s love to all nations.

- Week 1: Missionaries Gaston and Jeanne Ntambo serving with North Katanga Wings of the Morning and Missionary Lorraine Charinda serving as an agricultural specialist in the DR Congo.
- Week 2: Missionary Willie Berman serving with Manos Juntas in Mexico.
- Week 3: Les and Debbie Dornon serving with Tansen Mission Hospital in Nepal.
- Week 4: Church & Community Worker Katie Peterson serving with Eastbrook Mission Barn in Pennsylvania.
